What’s With the Name Change?

Frequent readers of this column will recall my April 2015 editorial, where minor changes to the ASA NEWSLETTER were introduced. Those changes included a move to somewhat lighter and less glossy paper stock, moving to a different printing company, and poly-bagging the NEWSLETTER for protection and improved marketing capabilities. All of these alterations were discussed in a focused group of the Committee on Newsletter, held back in December 2014 at the wonderful, new ASA headquarters building.
Not discussed in that April editorial was the upcoming name change of the publication. It was my decision not to let the cat out of the bag, so to speak, as I wanted to ensure that the idea for a name change, and the actual name chosen, would be approved by the leadership of ASA. That all came to pass, and now the result is in your hands. This month, ASA has changed the name of its NEWSLETTER. Our members are now reading the ASA MONITORTM.
