Not long after you read this, my university hospital colleagues at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center will move in to our new William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. And early next summer, my Parkland Health & Hospital System associates will move in to a new Parkland Hospital. These past five years in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management have seen structured growth, as we prepare to provide services for patients at these two new institutions. Just as important as the growth in numbers of faculty anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists is the time spent on the design of these new facilities.
