This article will present the current data from the National Anesthesia Clinical Outcomes Registry (NACOR) that addresses national and regional trends in neuraxial anesthesia for our obstetric patients. In January 2014,1  the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported on the number of live births in the United States (Figure 1). For 2013, there were 3,932,181 registered births. This number is approximately 1 percent less when compared to the registered births in 2012. In addition, the National Vital Statistics Report of November 5, 2014, reported an overall plateaued cesarean section rate of between 30 and 35 percent.
