SAMBA Update

ASA Monitor 02 2015, Vol.79, 68.
As I was writing this update over the Thanksgiving holiday, I reflected on how thankful I am for the opportunities I’ve had this year as president of SAMBA and the positive outcomes achieved through collaborations with partner organizations along with the hard work and efforts of our members. Allow me to share some of these accomplishments with you.
SAMBA’s Clinical Outcomes Registry (SCOR) is now entering an exciting new phase. As of December 1, the management of the registry transitioned to the Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI). The SCOR data will be maintained separately and securely and marketed and branded as a new ambulatory module under NACOR. SAMBA remains committed to the success of the registry and to improving quality management and patient safety for those practicing ambulatory anesthesia. I am confident that partnering with AQI is the best move for the registry; AQI has the necessary expertise to grow the registry, providing more outcome data and reports for our subscribers.
