This month’s NEWSLETTER is focused on the topic of practice management. The subject is well represented by articles from Drs. Kaur and Lockhart, Mesrobian and Schneider, Szokol, Wald and Page, and Stackhouse. January is also the month that ASA hosts its annual PRACTICE MANAGEMENT conference. PRACTICE MANAGEMENT 2015 will be held January 23-25, 2015, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, which is a new and wonderful venue for the meeting. It is my hope that many of you will have the opportunity to participate in this excellent meeting.
There are many facets to managing an anesthesiology practice. From time to time, I have commented on some aspects of management, but certainly never as eloquently as the authors in this month’s NEWSLETTER. Thus, it is with some trepidation that I’ll stick my neck out and discuss the importance that appropriate self-representation plays in running one’s practice. And even though I’m possibly walking too far out on a limb, I take comfort in knowing that I was asked to discuss this issue by one of our ASA officers.
