ASA Monitor 05 2014, Vol.78, 40-41.
The Interim Meeting of the ASA Board of Directors (BOD) was held at the InterContinental O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, on February 28-March 2, 2014. Fifty-nine voting members were present.
A Saturday afternoon Strategic Planning Session moderated by Decision Strategies International (DSI), a consulting firm specializing in strategic planning for corporations and other organizations, highlighted BOD events for the weekend. The discussion that ensued concerned possible long-term scenarios which could affect the specialty, whether positively or negatively. Reference was made to industries and corporations that successfully planned for future scenarios and succeeded, and those that failed. Input from this discussion will be used to help develop ASA’s strategic plan through 2017.
