ASA member Christopher E. Young, M.D. was installed as the 159th president of the Tennessee Medical Association (TMA) on April 6, 2013. Dr. Young, active in surgical mission work in Central and South America for the past two decades, will represent TMA’s more than 8,000 members.
ASA member Kenneth Elmassian, D.O. was installed as the 148th president of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) on April 27, 2013. Dr. Elmassian plans to focus his presidency on advocacy, leadership and communication among the more than 15,000 physicians in his state to protect the physician-patient relationship.
Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) appointed eight members to the Texas Medical Board, including ASA member Scott Holliday, D.O. on May 13, 2013. Dr. Holliday completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. He is reappointed for a term to expire in April 2019.
