SNACC: At the Forefront of Advancements in Perioperative Neurosciences
ASA Monitor 2 2019, Vol.83, 20-21.
ASA Monitor 2 2019, Vol.83, 20-21.
The leadership of the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC) considers it a privilege to have the society’s activities and initiatives communicated to the ASA membership, specifically in this issue of the ASA Monitor. Although SNACC is an international society interested in perioperative neurosciences, not limited to a region or a specific specialty, our members do value close relationships with ASA. Up until this year, the SNACC annual meeting was in conjunction with the ASA annual meeting. Both societies and both meetings have grown and improved significantly through the years, and thus September 12-14, 2019, will mark the inaugural stand-alone SNACC annual meeting. We look forward to maintaining and furthering close ties between the two societies in many ways, including, but certainly not limited to, presence on the ASA Committee on Specialty Societies, key involvement in the Committee on Neuroanesthesia, as well as the Educational Track Subcommittee on Neuroanesthesia, presenting the SNACC panel, sending delegates to the ASA House of Delegates and collaboration in ASA practice advisories in neuroanesthesia matters. SNACC is also collaborating with other perioperative neuroscience communities, including the Indian Society of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care (ISNACC) and Neuro Anaesthesia & Critical Care Society of Great Britain and Ireland. Currently, the SNACC newsletter is translated in four languages and read worldwide as a useful resource.
