The Manual for Anesthesia Department Organization and Management (MADOM) has been one of ASA’s most venerable resources. First developed in the 1980s, MADOM was a compendium of expert advice on how to set up and lead an anesthesia practice. The MADOM included a variety of materials ranging from how to establish a billing compliance program to how to prepare the group for a mass casualty event. Content was developed and periodically updated by the Committee on Quality Management & Departmental Administration (QMDA), and the final product – a book of several hundred pages – was available to ASA members at a nominal price.
