Some Thoughts on Practice Management
ASA Monitor 01 2018, Vol.82, 4-5.
ASA Monitor 01 2018, Vol.82, 4-5.
In support of ASA’s PRACTICE MANAGEMENT 2018 meeting (being held in New Orleans on January 26-28), this edition of the Monitor includes three articles on practice management issues. In their article “Developing Your Value Proposition: How Quality Creates Value,” Drs. Yaghmour, Deshur and Minhaj give an overview of “value” presentations that will occur during the Friday and Saturday of the conference.
Drs. Wald and Mahajan, in “Building Effective Leaders: A PRACTICE MANAGEMENT 2018 Preconference,” discuss leadership development seminars that will take place as part of another pre-conference to the PRACTICE MANAGEMENT program. And in “THRIVE, Don’t Just SURVIVE: Essential Skills for the Perioperative Physician Using Lean Methodology to Achieve Operational Excellence,” Dr. Kaur explains how to use Lean philosophy “… to bring about an organization culture change and achieve the triple aim of quality outcomes and improving satisfaction while reducing cost – ‘doing more with less.’” With more than 100 educational sessions, eight pre-conferences, a resident and fellows track, advocacy updates and a keynote session by Sachin Kheterpal, M.D., M.B.A., PRACTICE MANAGEMENT 2018 offers something for everyone.
