Volunteers Needed for Overseas Teaching Program in Guyana
ASA Monitor 10 2017, Vol.81, 60.
ASA Monitor 10 2017, Vol.81, 60.
The ASA Committee on Global Humanitarian Outreach is seeking volunteers for the Overseas Teaching Program in Georgetown, Guyana.
The program was established in 2016 in partnership with the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society to provide educational support to the young Guyanese residency training program. The residency graduated its first class last summer.
Volunteers are needed for two- to four-week trips to Guyana starting in March 2018. Volunteers will provide classroom and clinical teaching as well as support faculty development. Expenses are supported by ASA. Previous overseas experience is desirable, but all interested ASA members are encouraged to apply. There is a particular need for faculty who are able to travel during the summer months.
