ASA Monitor 08 2017, Vol.81, 24-28.
ASA Monitor 08 2017, Vol.81, 24-28.
This spring, ASA Leadership determined that it would be beneficial to develop sections in the ASA Monitor dedicated to the latest science and advancements in specific areas of the specialty. The three areas chosen were: airway management, patient monitoring and pain medicine. As rich as the field of anesthesiology is in regard to science and technology, we felt these three areas might offer the most diverse and timely subject matter that would be of interest to everyone, from the Monitor readership to industry stakeholders.
Monitor readers can look to this area of the magazine for the very latest news in one or even all of these areas in future issues. This month, we’d like to highlight a few of the excellent abstracts related to these themes that will be presented at ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2017 in Boston this October. The abstracts that follow certainly are not exhaustive, but were chosen to underscore the incredible variety and quality of research available at ANESTHESIOLOGY meetings each fall.
