Mentoring Impact: Implementing Quality Initiatives
ASA Monitor 04 2017, Vol.81, 48-49.
ASA Monitor 04 2017, Vol.81, 48-49.
This year, the Committee on Professional Diversity enters its eighth as a leader of the ASA Mentoring Program. The ASA Mentoring Program has been highly successful in meeting the initiatives set forth by ASA when the program started. The ASA Mentoring Program has been a strong catalyst for many young physicians in their professional development. By focusing on the goals of the program, fostering engagement and leadership among diverse members within ASA through mentorship, leaders have been developed in areas of advocacy, research and education. We are excited to highlight one of our current mentees, Michelle Brown, M.D., CA-3 resident at the University of Washington, as she describes her project and her experience as a mentee.
