A recent night left me with a disturbing dream that led to a bit of enlightenment. On the one hand, this dream was strange, in that it had elements that would lead some to call it a nightmare. On the other hand, it also had elements of one of those dreams where one is striving to attain something that always remains just beyond reach. For this latter reason, it did not really fit into my classification of a nightmare –a dream that truly frightens me, from which I awaken in an epinephrine-stormed tachycardia. And it is not my objective to interpret the dream, but to explain it to you, the reader, so that perhaps it will be possible to see how the dream led to some illumination.
