ASA Monitor 01 2017, Vol.81, 10-12.
ASA’s mission statement is “Advancing the Practice and Securing the Future.” To support this mission, the former ASA Health Policy Research Department, now known as Analytics and Research Services, conducts analyses and research to advance ASA advocacy efforts and demonstrate the value of physician anesthesiologists to patients and the communities they serve. In this “Policy Matters,” we summarize important peer-reviewed articles and major activities completed in 2016, and newer projects substantially under way.
HPR co-authored four peer-reviewed articles published in 2016, adding to the two peer-reviewed articles about the Perioperative Surgical Home published in 2014 and 2015. In addition to the four described in this section, HPR has co-authored two more manuscripts that were recently submitted for peer-reviewed publication that analyze topics important to physician anesthesiologists. We hope that those two will be published early in 2017.
