ASA®is doing something incredible at ANESTHESIOLOGY®2016, and you’re invited to be part of it.
On Sunday, October 23, we’re throwing the grooviest party around, “Come Together for a Cause,” to benefit four of the worthiest foundations in anesthesiology. From 6-10 p.m., you can eat, drink and dance to the music of Beatles tribute ban “The Fab 4” in support of the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation (APSF), ASA Charitable Foundation, Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) and the Wood Library-Museum (WLM) of Anesthesiology.
The WLM ranks among the world’s premier collections devoted to anesthesia history. It is the “go-to” resource for anesthesia-related historical research and serves ASA members, ASA staff, historians, students and the public. Digitization has allowed the WLM to make its collections accessible worldwide. Its website and social media presence continues to rise as a uniquely educational and engaging resource. The “History of Anesthesia” inter-active online timeline ranks #1 on Google for “anesthesia history” and “anesthesiology history” searches. In addition, the Paul M. Wood Fellowship allows recipients financial support for up to two weeks of scholarly and historical research. Many researchers have since published and formally presented their topics. As the official repository of the ASA archives, the WLM proudly continues to preserve your heritage and knowledge.
