PRACTICE MANAGEMENT 2016: Defining Value in Anesthesiologist Performance
ASA Monitor 11 2015, Vol.79, 22-23.
ASA Monitor 11 2015, Vol.79, 22-23.
The need for physician anesthesiologists and anes-thesiology practices to demonstrate value continues to grow. This pressure comes from health care systems, CMS and third-party payers, and employers, all of whom continue to implement payment models increasingly based upon outcomes, quality and resource utilization. More than ever before, anesthesiologists must acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive and succeed as the existing fee-for-service payment model starts to diminish and newer payment models gain traction.
The ASA PRACTICE MANAGEMENT conference is the largest conference of its kind dedicated to helping anesthesiologists meet these challenges. PRACTICE MANAGEMENT 2016 (PM2016), taking place at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront from January 29-31, will focus on the theme “Anesthesiologist and Anesthesiology Practice Performance,” with specific emphasis upon how anesthesiologists can measure and demonstrate value. The Committee on Practice Management has added some new features to PM2016 that we believe will allow attendees to interact more extensively with ASA leadership and deliver even more information that can be implemented into an existing practice.
