When Seconds Count Educational Endeavor – Forging Ahead

Who is in charge of my life? It’s a critical question that will help drive the evolution of ASA’s When Seconds Count™ (WSC) educational endeavor throughout 2014. The endeavor was launched last September to advocate for patient-centered, physician-led care, ensuring the best possible outcomes that each and every patient deserves.
We took bold steps as a society in 2013 – embracing new messaging based on compelling research and proactively working to raise the visibility of the critical role physician anesthesiologists have in medically caring for patients before, during and after surgery.
Our achievements include:
A plan for public relations and public affairs activities for 2014 was developed and approved by ASA’s Administrative Council in late January. In a broad sense, the plan includes:
