The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) provides anesthesiology research grant funding in basic science, clinical, translational, health services and education research. In 2013, 17 anesthesiologists representing 12 institutions received FAER grants.
The award funding totaled $2.4 million, the second-highest amount FAER has ever awarded in a single year. (FAER awarded $2.412 million in 2007, which included $500,000 in funding for the special Cerebral Function Monitoring Grant supported by the American Society of Anesthesiologists.)
FAER grants are made possible through the generous financial support of the ASA and its component and subspecialty societies, as well as anesthesiology departments, practice groups, corporations and individual contributors.
